What you will do

• Set up, calibrate and operate CNC machines, lathes and mills according to engineering drawings, specifications and written instructions.
• Interpret technical drawings and machining requirements to manufacture accurate components within production schedules and output targets.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers and other precision measurement equipment.
• Verify component tolerances and quality standards while maintaining inspection and quality records.
• Complete preventative maintenance, cleaning and basic troubleshooting to reduce downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe machining environment in line with manufacturing procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing, machining or engineering environment.
• Practical experience with CNC machinery, lathes, mills or similar production equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical instructions and machining specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
• Understanding of quality control, safe working practices and basic machine troubleshooting.
• A relevant vocational or technical qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent is desirable; forklift certification is beneficial.
