Senior Reporter, PharmaVoice (Pharma)

Location: 275 Grove Street, Newton, Massachusetts, United States; office-based with in-person work three days a week or more

Salary: $80,000–$94,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Produce enterprise reporting, in-depth features, and quick-turn news stories about the biopharma and biotech industries.
• Cover operational and leadership changes, research, drug development, commercialization, policy, and legislative developments.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, newsmakers, and expert sources.
• Attend industry events, conduct interviews, and gather insights for editorial coverage.
• Collaborate with the editorial team on larger reporting projects and take ownership of assigned beats.
• Edit copy daily to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with editorial standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of journalism experience, including a minimum of 3 years covering pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
• Proven success reporting and writing about the business of pharmaceuticals, supported by a strong portfolio.
• Understanding of commercialization strategies, drug research and development, regulatory trends, policy, AI in pharma and biotech, and global industry dynamics.
• Ability to analyze clinical trial data, scientific research, policy changes, earnings reports, and industry trends.
• Strong source-building, deadline-management, headline-writing, reporting, and copy-editing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, English, or a related field.
