Manufacturing Supervisor - Optics Fabrication - 2nd Shift (Optics)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Salary: $71,025–$118,375 USD per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead and develop fabrication personnel while driving safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives.
• Execute daily production schedules while balancing customer demand, equipment capacity, material availability, and operational priorities.
• Coordinate optical fabrication workflows across shaping, grinding, polishing, deterministic finishing, cleaning, and metrology.
• Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to improve throughput, yield, cycle time, and on-time delivery.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and support new product introductions.
• Maintain cleanroom requirements, manufacturing procedures, EHS standards, quality systems, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, visual management, and standard work.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in optics, photonics, semiconductor, precision machining, coating, aerospace, or another high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Direct supervision experience with skilled, non-exempt manufacturing employees in a production setting.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, capacity planning, and operational performance management.
• Experience using data-driven analysis and structured problem-solving to troubleshoot production issues.
• Strong communication, leadership, team motivation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available.
