Manufacturing Supervisor II (Medical Manufacturing)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; onsite manufacturing role. The position works a 12-hour night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, including every other weekend. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $80,000–$110,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead daily production operations, including scheduling, staffing, material management, training, auditing, and resource allocation.
• Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate direct reports while coordinating with manufacturing, quality, engineering, maintenance, and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, cGMP, SOPs, product specifications, FDA requirements, and environmental health and safety standards.
• Review batch and system records, support product release activities, and prepare operational, labor, maintenance, safety, and attendance reports.
• Lead technical reviews, investigations, troubleshooting, equipment and process validation, and resolution of deviations affecting production deadlines.
• Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing, 5S/6S, visual management, kaizens, WCM methods, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of manufacturing experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Technical leadership, communication, project management, troubleshooting, and prioritization skills in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems, CMMS, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, Lockout/Tagout, and other safety programs.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, QLP, GMP/cGMP, FDA requirements, SOPs, and medical or pharmaceutical industry regulations.
• Must not be allergic to penicillin, cephalosporin, or related products and minerals. Basic written and spoken English communication skills are required.
