TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift (Semiconductor) (Lean Manufacturing/Automation): Developing and improving manufacturing methods, assembly processes, test procedures, and product changes for semiconductor equipment with an accent on safety, quality, cost, reliability, and efficiency. Focus on root cause and failure analysis, supplier and cross-functional coordination, data-driven corrective actions, and manufacturing readiness for a Monday–Thursday second shift.

Location: Kalispell, Montana, United States; onsite second shift, Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m.

Salary: $65,500–$90,000 per year

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing methods, work instructions, process flows, layouts, and assembly procedures.
  • Coordinate with design engineering, NPME, operations, quality, test engineering, suppliers, and other stakeholders on product improvements and manufacturing issues.
  • Manage engineering change requests and orders, assessing impacts on bills of material, drawings, product structures, assemblies, suppliers, and customers.
  • Apply DFx, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement principles to improve safety, quality, reliability, delivery, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Develop and evaluate test procedures, analyze manufacturing and quality data, and perform root cause, failure, and process failure mode analysis.
  • Support supplier quality, manufacturing readiness, audits, corrective actions, training, and process implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Conceptual and technical problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Tableau, Visio, and other manufacturing systems and software.
  • Ability to work onsite in Kalispell, Montana, on the Monday–Thursday second shift from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, lift, work in tight spaces and noisy environments, and use hand and power tools; clean-room PPE may be required.

Nice to have

  • 1–2 years of semiconductor experience or education-based knowledge of the semiconductor industry.
