Head of Product, Life Sciences (AI)

What you will do

• Own the life sciences product roadmap, including assay and application prioritization.
• Define validation standards, controls, sample requirements, reproducibility criteria, and evidence needed for supported applications.
• Lead design-partner evaluations from initial assessment through operational deployment and ensure resulting capabilities generalize to future customers.
• Specify application configurations, protocols, outputs, and performance characteristics where no prior standard exists.
• Prioritize segments across biopharma, biotechnology, contract research organizations, and academia, including build-versus-partner decisions for evidence generation.
• Represent life sciences requirements to optics, AI, and software engineering teams; lead customer evaluations, technical presentations, conferences, and customer-site engagements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in biology, cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, or a related life sciences discipline.
• 10+ years of experience across product management, applications, market development, or scientific partnerships in the life sciences industry, including direct product-definition ownership.
• Strong understanding of biology research, drug discovery workflows, pharmaceutical R&D, and laboratory evaluation, validation, and adoption processes.
• Experience establishing evidentiary standards for scientific claims and directing validation work for new measurement methods.
• Direct experience with pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, contract research organizations, or academic research institutions, including their differing procurement and adoption behavior.
• Ability to author product specifications, reject non-generalizable opportunities, collaborate with technical engineering teams, and communicate effectively with scientific and technical audiences; willingness to travel.

• Experience with advanced imaging, computational biology, AI applied to life sciences, or high-content screening.
