What you will do
- Provide legal advice to Financial Services and Merchant Services stakeholders across Southeast Asia and Greater China, with a strong focus on Greater China.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements covering sales, procurement, partnerships, joint ventures, investments, intellectual property, and data protection.
- Advise on Cloud, SaaS, AI, payment products, regulatory requirements, employment matters, disputes, and legal compliance.
- Develop contract templates, support contract lifecycle management, and help digitize legal workflows and contract archives.
- Support corporate and M&A activities, including post-merger integration, and liaise with external counsel.
- Deliver legal training, manage legal risks, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction and 8+ years of experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience handling Greater China legal matters and contracting in an international business environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English, plus business-level Chinese and another Asian language.
- In-house technology experience covering software, hardware, platforms, cloud, or networks, preferably in the payments sector.
- Strong contract law knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
