TL;DR
Principal Developer, Oncology Data & AI Systems (AI): Building scalable, AI-ready data products and pipelines for Oncology R&D across clinical, pre-clinical, real-world, and omics platforms with an accent on data harmonization, quality, governance, and interoperability. Focus on designing cloud-based data ecosystems, integrating structured and unstructured data, and enabling advanced analytics, machine learning, and GenAI applications.

Location: Onsite in Cambridge, MA; Spring House, PA; Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; or San Diego, CA. No remote option. Periodic travel of approximately 10–15% may be required.

Base pay: $117,000–$201,250 annually, plus potential performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Partner with Oncology R&D and Data Science stakeholders to deliver data, AI/ML, and GenAI use cases.
  • Own the architecture, development, documentation, and lifecycle management of Oncology R&D data products.
  • Integrate and harmonize clinical, pre-clinical, real-world, biomarker, genomics, and other omics data.
  • Design and optimize structured and unstructured data pipelines using Python, R, SQL, AWS, and related technologies.
  • Implement data quality controls, automated monitoring, performance metrics, lineage, metadata, and versioning.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, knowledge graph engineers, enterprise architecture, IT, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of data engineering experience, including data modeling, schema design, and database architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for processing, transformation, and automation of large-scale datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, preferably AWS services such as Redshift, FSx, Glue, and Lambda.
  • Experience with relational, NoSQL/unstructured, and graph data technologies, plus production troubleshooting and data quality management.
  • Willingness to work onsite at one of the listed United States locations and travel periodically for conferences and internal meetings.

Nice to have

  • Healthcare data standards experience, including CDISC, HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, OMOP, or DICOM.
  • Experience with high-dimensional data and imaging.
  • Familiarity with MLOps and GenAI model deployment.
