Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Annual base salary: $180,000–$205,000

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, automated workflows, monitoring, alerts, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
• Develop governed, reliable, and AI-ready data products for analytics, automation, machine learning, and generative AI use cases.
• Partner with data scientists, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver documented data for production workflows.
• Use cloud technologies, orchestration, and modern engineering practices to improve reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Document architectures and data flows, communicate technical concepts, and contribute to mentoring, technical reviews, and hiring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, software development, systems design, or data analysis.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, database design, DDL, DML, data validation, and performance optimization skills.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell, with experience building automated data pipelines and workflows.
• Experience with structured and semi-structured data, operating systems, secure data transfer, permissions, authentication, and encryption.
• Experience preparing and operationalizing data for analytics, AI, or machine learning, including data quality, lineage, governance, and feature engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, DynamoDB, Oracle, Hadoop, Athena, or EMR.
• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or ActiveMQ and reporting or observability tools such as Tableau, Splunk, Datadog, or Domo.
• Experience with Docker, Packer, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, cloud infrastructure, containers, storage, orchestration, or automation.
• Exposure to vector databases, feature stores, model monitoring, retrieval-augmented generation, or production machine learning infrastructure.
• Knowledge of payment processing, digital commerce, or card-not-present fraud.
