Staff HRIS Analyst (Workday)

Location: US - California - San Diego

Base salary: $118,200–$177,200 per year, plus eligible variable cash programs and potential equity.

What you will do

• Own Workday Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and payroll-related integrations, including roadmap and enhancement priorities.
• Design end-to-end solutions for time capture, approvals, absence eligibility and accruals, benefit enrollment, life events, and payroll data flows.
• Diagnose complex system, interface, security, and data issues with Payroll, Benefits, technical teams, and external vendors.
• Lead global HR technology initiatives from requirements and planning through testing, change management, and stabilization.
• Create procedures, runbooks, training materials, requirements, testing documentation, controls, and status reports.
• Coach analysts and project team members on functional design, operational readiness, controls, and support practices.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on Workday configuration and support across Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and payroll-related integrations.
• Experience defining data mappings, reconciliation methods, exception handling, and test coverage for HR, payroll, and benefits interfaces.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with attention to payroll-impacting deadlines.
• Ability to work with technical and nontechnical stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Preferred experience includes Workday Extend, reporting, security, integration tools, dashboards, AI or automation, Excel, and Agile delivery practices.
