Associate Director, Data Engineering (AI)

Location: Seattle, Washington preferred; remote and hybrid work options available. Occasional travel to company-sponsored events is expected 1–3 times per year.

Salary: $192,00–$269,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Partner with Product Managers, customers, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists to translate needs into end-to-end data and insights solutions.
• Grow and operate the data platform supporting AI products, including ingestion, transformation, governance, and delivery.
• Develop governed, high-quality datasets for building, evaluating, and improving AI products.
• Analyze data to identify patterns, opportunities, and customer-relevant insights for product decisions and the AI roadmap.
• Create and maintain dashboards that communicate performance and support data-informed decisions.
• Improve the reliability, repeatability, quality, and usability of data pipelines and platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or a related field.
• Experience building, maintaining, or scaling data platforms for AI or machine learning products.
• Strong data operations and software engineering skills, including production-ready data workflows and pipelines.
• Understanding of the machine learning lifecycle and the role of dependable data in model development and product improvement.
• Experience with governed data lakes, data quality, organization, and access management.
• Strong written communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to varied audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with deep learning, natural language processing, or applied AI methods.
• Experience working with healthcare or clinical data.
