Director, Data Product Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the delivery of cross-functional data products, analytics experiences, and Golden KPIs on the hirify.global Data Platform.
• Create an operating model using embedded data and AI engineers across business domains.
• Define publishing standards, golden paths, certification processes, metadata, lineage, ownership, and discovery for headless data products.
• Drive AI-native engineering through agentic SDLC practices, AI-assisted development, automated testing, and measurable productivity improvements.
• Enforce production standards including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, data observability, data quality, drift detection, HIPAA, RAQA, and data classification requirements.
• Hire, coach, and develop data and analytics engineers while reviewing architecture and code and partnering with business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of data engineering experience and 5+ years leading data or analytics engineering teams at Director level.
• Hands-on expertise with Python, SQL, dbt models, pipeline debugging, and architecture decisions.
• Experience shipping production data products with measurable adoption and leading teams using AI-assisted development.
• Regulated-environment experience in healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, or pharma, including real HIPAA compliance and PHI handling.
• Experience with Snowflake, AWS, Claude, dbt, Fivetran, Sigma, Airflow or Dagster, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong knowledge of data mesh, headless domain-owned data products, engineering standards, operating models, and executive communication.

Nice to have

• Diagnostics, genomics, or clinical data engineering experience with BAM, VCF, or FASTQ.
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or RAG architectures.
• Experience implementing data contracts and enterprise agentic tooling such as Claude Code.
