Location: Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; or remote within the United States

Total cash compensation: $130,000–$200,000 per year. New York City range: $162,500–$250,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a team of 2–4 data engineers building real-time and batch data pipelines across modern cloud and lakehouse technologies.
• Own data platform solutions end to end, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, monitoring, alerting, and outgestion.
• Translate business and client requirements into technical roadmaps and serve as a trusted technical point of contact.
• Establish standards for data governance, quality, documentation, lineage, access control, and observability.
• Drive platform reliability, scalability, performance, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
• Lead proof-of-concepts and identify opportunities to integrate AI, agentic tooling, and AI-assisted pipeline development.

Requirements

• 3+ years managing a data engineering team and 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• 4+ years of Databricks experience, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, workflow orchestration, and platform architecture.
• 4+ years working with cloud technologies; AWS is preferred, while Azure and GCP are also accepted.
• Strong hands-on Python and PySpark experience in distributed computing environments.
• Expertise in data governance, scalable data modeling, code-first transformation workflows, data quality, and production observability.
• Fluency in AI applications for data engineering, agentic tooling, GitHub, CI/CD, and client-facing technical communication.
