Senior Product Manager (AI/Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in San Leandro, California, United States

Base pay: $155,000–$190,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Conduct field research with process engineers, technicians, and quality managers to understand workflows, pain points, and latent needs.
• Own the end-to-end software product experience for standalone and inline manufacturing offerings.
• Prototype and test user workflows and interfaces in Figma or equivalent tools before engineering implementation.
• Simplify complex product behavior and define how measurement results, analytics, confidence, and uncertainty are communicated to non-expert users.
• Translate customer insights into product definitions and collaborate with engineering, data science, machine learning, and commercial teams.
• Prioritize Jira workstreams, facilitate planning, and contribute to roadmap and product direction with the Head of Product.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, physical sciences, or engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in software product management or UX/product design, including at least 3 years owning a software product experience end to end.
• Hands-on UX and UI design experience with a portfolio of personally produced and tested interface work.
• Strong customer and user research experience, including field observation, workflow mapping, and translating findings into shipped product decisions.
• Experience simplifying complex or technical products for non-expert users and working with ML or analytics platform products.
• Proficiency with Jira and Agile practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial, scientific instrumentation, or non-destructive testing software.
• Exposure to battery manufacturing, aerospace coatings, semiconductor materials, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia.
• Experience at an early-stage deep-tech startup.
