Legal Engineer (Litigation / Regulatory)

Location: New York City metropolitan area; fully in-person in NYC, five days a week in the office. Candidates must be located nearby or be open to relocation.

What you will do

• Own law firm engagements from initial scoping through simulation deployment and long-term collaboration.
• Translate litigation strategy and legal questions into rigorous simulation designs.
• Present simulation findings to partners, practice group leaders, and law firm executives.
• Deliver complex, high-quality client materials independently and at speed.
• Work with firm executives on brand strategy, messaging, operations, and go-to-market development.
• Coordinate with engineering, product, and commercial teams while identifying new opportunities across the legal market.

Requirements

• JD and 3+ years of experience as a litigator at a top law firm in commercial litigation, mass torts, white-collar matters, or similar complex litigation.
• Experience introducing technology into legal practice through a legal technology company or law-firm innovation, knowledge management, or AI initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work rigorously with quantitative information and communicate findings clearly in writing and in person.
• Ability to shape ambiguous requests into structured workstreams, identify issues early, and deliver independently.
• Genuine interest in AI and willingness to work fully in person in NYC.

Nice to have

• Experience with trial preparation, mock trials, focus groups, jury research, or trial consultants.
• Background in market research and consumer insights, including survey design, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and syndicated data.
• Familiarity with AI tools and complex software.
• Experience managing matters or projects across long timescales.
• Ability to speak multiple languages.
