Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Spring 2027)

Location: On-site in Redondo Beach, California, for the 14-week internship from January through April 2027

Compensation: $30.00 per hour, with overtime pay eligibility

What you will do

• Support the Structures Manufacturing Engineering team in developing and improving processes for space-grade components and vehicles.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to produce reliable, cost-efficient hardware.
• Evaluate forming, welding, brazing, machining, and other fabrication and integration techniques.
• Create efficient assembly and inspection processes.
• Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions.

Requirements

• Completion of or progress toward a degree in engineering or science.
• Ability to take project ownership and work effectively in a small team.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication tools and processes, including power tools, tube bending, machining, or welding.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Redondo Beach, California, throughout the internship.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with product or process improvements.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability and complex assemblies.
• Familiarity with CAD software and ability to learn new tools.
• Experience taking a hardware project through design, build, and test.
