Senior Director, Corporate Strategy (Genomics)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; hybrid with 2–3 in-office days per week. Must reside in the San Diego area and be able to commute to the corporate offices. Relocation assistance is available and should be completed within 12 months or an agreed timeframe.

Base salary: $224,900–$337,300 per year, plus eligible variable cash compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise strategy development and define long-term strategic priorities.
• Frame ambiguous executive questions into decisions, alternatives, criteria, and analytical workplans.
• Lead high-priority initiatives involving growth strategy, business-model evolution, market entry, technology disruption, and competitive response.
• Build integrated market, customer, scientific, technology, competitive, operational, and financial fact bases.
• Prepare decision-ready recommendations and facilitate discussions with the Executive Leadership Team and Board.
• Lead, coach, and develop multi-level strategy teams while supporting decision follow-through.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in a top consulting firm and typically 16–20 years of relevant strategy experience.
• 10+ years in corporate strategy, top-tier strategy consulting, or equivalent senior strategic roles.
• 5+ years advising C-suite executives and independently presenting recommendations to executive leadership teams.
• 5+ years leading complex, high-ambiguity, cross-functional strategy engagements end to end.
• 3+ years leading and coaching multi-person, multi-level strategy teams, with advanced analytical, financial modeling, and executive communication skills.

Nice to have

• MBA, master’s degree, or another relevant advanced degree.
• Experience in genomics, life sciences, diagnostics, healthcare, or another technology-intensive industry.
• Board-level strategy experience in a public-company or similarly complex environment.
• Experience with partnerships, acquisitions, or other inorganic strategy options.
