HR Business Partner (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York, with 3+ days per week in-office Tuesday–Thursday

Base salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and level; meaningful equity and comprehensive benefits are also available.

What you will do

• Partner with managers and leaders on team performance, organizational structure, hiring plans, and difficult conversations.
• Coach managers and individual contributors through growth, feedback, transitions, and employee relations matters.
• Define evidence-backed people frameworks and advise on compensation bands, offers, promotions, and merit decisions.
• Lead team-level organizational design and change initiatives, including restructuring, sequencing, communications, and follow-through.
• Use engagement data, attrition signals, and employee feedback to identify organizational issues and advise leadership.
• Use AI tools for documentation, analysis, preparation, and repeatable people systems.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of HR experience with a strong business-partnering background.
• Experience coaching employees and managers through difficult situations, complex employee relations matters, and organizational changes.
• Experience supporting engineers, researchers, or technical leaders in a technology company; AI or applied-AI experience is preferred.
• Strong coaching, compensation, organizational design, change management, and systems-thinking skills.
• Experience leading at least one team-level restructuring or leader transition from design through communications and follow-through.
• Ability to operate without an existing playbook and build scalable people processes.
