Lead Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid position based at 10 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, California, with a minimum of three office days per week

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 annually, bonus eligible

What you will do

• Lead core modeling work across customer segmentation, lifetime value, retention, and forecasting.
• Set methodological standards for experimentation, statistical analysis, and causal inference.
• Build reusable models, frameworks, and scalable self-service data products.
• Identify and implement AI solutions that improve analytical workflow speed and quality.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance to turn modeling into business recommendations.
• Mentor analysts and scientists while promoting responsible AI, risk assessment, and bias mitigation.

Requirements

• Degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data science or analytics, including technical leadership as an individual contributor.
• Hands-on expertise in predictive modeling, machine learning, segmentation, lifetime-value modeling, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of experimentation and causal inference, with experience setting organizational standards.
• Expert SQL skills, a modern data science toolkit, and understanding of data pipelines and data modeling.
• Experience providing AI technical leadership, communicating with senior stakeholders, and mentoring other analysts or scientists.

Nice to have

• Experience in media, streaming, entertainment, or consumer subscription and transactional businesses.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field.
