Software Engineering Manager (IoT)

What you will do

• Own the direction, delivery, and quality of a core product area from initial concept through release.
• Work directly with founders to define technical direction and product priorities.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a small team of engineers while setting the quality bar for code reviews.
• Design, write, and review code across the full stack, spending roughly one-third to one-half of the time hands-on.
• Translate ambiguous product goals into executable technical plans and decide what to rebuild for scale.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and design teams on products deployed to a physical kiosk fleet, while sharing production ownership and on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production software.
• 3+ years of direct engineering management experience, including hiring, performance management, and career growth.
• Recent personal ownership of code, design reviews, or architecture while managing engineers.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of at least one of Python, Node, C++, Go, or Java, plus the ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
• Experience building production-ready software used regularly by a large number of people.
