Software Engineer (Android)

Location: US - Remote Eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional office work or offsites may be required by agreement with the manager.

Base pay: $162,000–$186,000 USD annually, with possible bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

What you will do

• Build Android account and commerce features for millions of guests and hosts.
• Design and implement modern Android interfaces using declarative UI and unidirectional state architecture.
• Partner with product and design to deliver polished, accessible user experiences.
• Collaborate with backend, iOS, and web engineers to maintain consistent APIs, data, and feature behavior across platforms.
• Write tested, maintainable code and participate in technical and design reviews.
• Troubleshoot mobile app bugs, performance issues, and reliability problems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional Android engineering experience, including work on a large-scale production consumer app.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, modern Android architecture, declarative UI such as Jetpack Compose, unidirectional state management, and dependency injection.
• Experience integrating APIs and collaborating with backend and other platform engineers.
• Experience delivering features from technical design through launch and iteration with increasing independence.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and feedback-oriented working habits.
• Understanding of mobile performance, accessibility, and release/CI practices.
