Team Lead, Software Engineering (Cloud Applications)

Location: Delft, Netherlands; hybrid work with two days per week from the local office and the remainder home-based

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex user-facing cloud applications.
• Provide architectural guidance, assess design trade-offs, and ensure functional, non-functional, and security requirements are met.
• Stay hands-on with daily coding and code reviews across the team's technologies.
• Allocate work, guide operational delivery, and coach software engineers and direct reports.
• Lead medium-scale projects, managing risks, change controls, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with product, design, research, and other stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
• At least 1 year of formal people management experience with direct reports.
• Full-stack experience delivering user-facing web applications, with hands-on frontend and backend development; Python and/or React preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, scalable and reliable application design, relational and non-relational databases, and performance optimization.
• Experience with code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum, stakeholder communication, and influencing.
