What you will do

• Discover, research, prototype, and validate geomodelling algorithms and workflows.
• Apply algorithms, analytics, artificial intelligence, and computing to complex geomodelling challenges.
• Advance research into practical solutions and advise colleagues on technical approaches.
• Develop benchmarks and case studies, present research to customers, and incorporate feedback.
• Collaborate with universities, research programs, industry partners, technical committees, and working groups.
• Share research through conferences, publications, and internal and external activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in similar roles, including industry experience outside academia.
• Master’s degree or equivalent with extensive domain experience, or a PhD with several years of relevant experience.
• Extensive geoscience experience in geochemistry, structural geology, prospectivity, exploration geology, mining geology, or geological modelling.
• Strong quantitative expertise in numerical analysis, optimization, probabilistic methods, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
• Strong planning, coordination, problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Business-oriented mindset with the ability to influence product strategy.
