Senior Quality Process Development Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Burlington, Canada; onsite

What you will do

• Design and build statistical and algorithmic detection tools for wafer probe data, including hardware integrity checks, yield outlier detection, parametric drift analysis, and wafer-level spatial pattern classification.
• Develop learned pattern-recognition models from engineer-confirmed examples, including multi-pattern classification, confidence indicators, risk tiering, and known-issue matching.
• Build relationship-analysis and reporting layers that consolidate detection outputs into distinct quality issues and support downstream risk assessment.
• Develop AI-driven process improvement initiatives, including LLM-based contextualization using product and test/bin naming data.
• Partner with Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, AI teams, and software partners to validate systems against production fab lots.
• Create technical documentation and knowledge-transfer materials for long-term in-house ownership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, applied statistics, or data science, including production statistical or machine-learning systems.
• Strong knowledge of anomaly detection, multiple-comparison correction, and hypothesis testing on production or sensor data.
• Hands-on experience deploying classification models trained on labeled data and handling out-of-distribution or novel categories.
• Proficiency in Python or an equivalent language for data analysis and machine-learning development, plus strong SQL or equivalent skills.
• Ability to design structured, self-describing outputs and write clear technical documentation for engineering audiences.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor test-data, wafer probe, final test engineering, software binning, parametric test-limit, or wafer-map analysis experience.
• Experience with semiconductor test-data or yield-analysis platforms.
• Experience building LLM-driven analysis or reporting systems with domain context.
• Knowledge of spatial/statistical process-control methods for manufacturing data.
• Experience in regulated or quality-critical manufacturing environments.
