Pharmacy Patient Care Coordinator (Oncology)

Location: Methuen, Massachusetts; hybrid schedule with 2–3 days onsite per week

Salary: $66,331.20–$76,440.00 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate patient onboarding, prescription refills, medication shipments, signature delivery, and related pharmacy care activities.
• Review new Epic orders, triage appropriate cases to the oral anticancer teaching team, and release prescriptions to the appropriate pharmacies.
• Provide timely status updates to provider offices, disease center programs, patients, payers, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare partners.
• Support medication adherence, persistence, REMS requirements, storage and handling guidance, and accurate pharmacy care plan documentation.
• Handle patient and payer inquiries, troubleshoot access and reimbursement issues, and escalate clinical concerns, adverse events, complaints, and incidents appropriately.
• Participate in case reviews and continuous quality improvement with pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy support managers, and other coordinators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience in retail, outpatient, specialty pharmacy, oncology, healthcare, or health insurance.
• Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician or Intern.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organization, follow-through, computer proficiency, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients, providers, medical staff, payers, and cross-functional pharmacy teams in high-pressure situations.

Nice to have

• Utilization review or prior authorization experience.
• Experience with specialty therapy management systems such as Therigy or Asembia.
• Experience in oncology pharmacy or related disease-state care.
