Electrical Engineer (Audio Electronics)

Location: On-site in the Askim office, Sweden. Frequent short-notice travel in Germany and occasional travel throughout Europe and to hirify.global's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon is required.

What you will do

• Design, document, test, and verify new product designs in collaboration with design engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Create specifications and schematics for microcontroller-based systems using interfaces such as DRAM, Ethernet, USB, PCIe, I2C, SPI, and I2S/TDM.
• Design medium- to high-density PCB layouts with high-speed signal and impedance-control techniques.
• Develop test plans and perform functional, thermal, and other verification testing.
• Integrate multiple PCB assemblies into product enclosures and perform soldering or PCB rework when needed.
• Prepare technical documentation and status reports, participate in project meetings, and accompany equipment to EMI testing laboratories.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in a design engineering role, preferably with microcontroller-based audio systems.
• Knowledge of audio electronics, communication protocols, EMI/EMC requirements, and mitigation techniques.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other common test equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work on-site in Askim and travel frequently in Germany, across Europe, and occasionally to Beaverton, Oregon.

Nice to have

• Understanding of audio quality test methods.
• Experience with power supply and amplifier design.
• Experience with Altium Designer.
