Natural Gas Commercial Analyst

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite role. Relocation is not offered, except that it may be considered for internal candidates.

What you will do

• Monitor natural gas fundamentals, pricing, trade flows, infrastructure, storage, weather, and competitor activity.
• Develop and communicate market views supporting physical and financial trading strategies.
• Identify arbitrage opportunities, optimize portfolios, and support commercial decisions with traders.
• Build supply-demand, storage, infrastructure, forecasting, and market-risk models.
• Support storage optimization through inventory analysis, economics, and market assessments.
• Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, predictive modeling, and automation to improve forecasting and trading performance.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of exposure to natural gas or commodity trading.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, business, or a related field.
• Experience with North American natural gas markets, including supply and demand, storage, pipelines, and basis markets.
• Experience supporting physical or financial natural gas trading activities.
• Familiarity with ICE, Bloomberg, Platts, EIA, Wood Mackenzie, or Criterion.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Permian Basin natural gas trading, production dynamics, takeaway capacity, and regional market fundamentals.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and Databricks.
• Data science experience or experience building advanced analytical models for trading.
