Sr. Manager, Cybersecurity Advisory (Cybersecurity)

Location: US - Ashburn, VA; at least 3 days per week in the office required. Travel: 5–10% based on client and business needs.

Salary: $138,300–$221,600 USD per year, with potential bonus, sales incentive payments, and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead cybersecurity advisory engagements from discovery and scoping through analysis, recommendations, executive presentations, and close.
• Assess client cybersecurity strategies, governance models, architectures, capabilities, controls, and resilience practices.
• Evaluate technical findings, control evidence, architecture artifacts, security metrics, and stakeholder input to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Translate complex cybersecurity issues into clear business, operational, financial, and customer implications.
• Develop evidence-based recommendations and pragmatic roadmaps aligned with risk, business priorities, technical dependencies, feasibility, and client maturity.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, coordinate multidisciplinary contributors, oversee engagement quality and outcomes, and support business development and advisory-offering development.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5 years with an advanced degree, or 2 years with a PhD.
• Experience in cybersecurity consulting, cybersecurity risk management, information security, technology risk, or a related field.
• Experience leading client-facing consulting engagements or complex cybersecurity workstreams.
• Depth across cybersecurity domains such as security architecture, cloud or application security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, data protection, incident response, threat intelligence, or cyber resilience.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and technology-risk frameworks including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls, or COBIT.
• Strong analytical, project-management, executive communication, presentation, facilitation, and multidisciplinary leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial institutions, payments companies, fintechs, merchants, or other regulated organizations.
• Knowledge of payments, cyber-enabled fraud, and financial-sector risk and resilience expectations.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, or a comparable credential.
• Experience supporting consultative selling, proposals, opportunity development, or advisory-offering development.
