Information Systems Security Officer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States. U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph are required.

Salary: $116,000–$154,000–$169,400 annually within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Support security authorization, operation, and continuous monitoring of classified information systems throughout the system lifecycle.
• Execute RMF activities, including system categorization, control implementation, assessment preparation, authorization support, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, security assessment materials, contingency plans, and configuration management documentation.
• Track vulnerabilities, security findings, configuration issues, corrective actions, and remediation through closure.
• Partner with ISSMs, ISSEs, system owners, Government stakeholders, developers, DevSecOps, cloud, data, and infrastructure teams.
• Monitor security events and logs, support incident response, prepare for audits and assessments, and provide security guidance and reporting.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Experience as an ISSO, ISSM, security analyst, cybersecurity analyst, or in a similar information assurance role.
• Experience with RMF activities, security authorization, Government information systems, and classified environments.
• Experience creating SSPs, POA&Ms, assessment materials, and continuous monitoring artifacts.
• Experience with security controls, vulnerability management, configuration management, incident response, remediation tracking, and compliance assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Object-Based Intelligence, Intelligence Community, or Department of Defense mission systems.
• Experience with enterprise ontologies, knowledge graphs, Semantic Web technologies, data integration, AI/ML, advanced analytics, or knowledge management.
• Experience with classified cloud, hybrid-cloud, OpenShift, virtualization, or containerized environments.
• NIST, RMF, DoD, Intelligence Community, or other Government cybersecurity framework experience.
• Security+, CISSP, CAP, CISM, DoD 8570/8140, or equivalent certification.
