Cyber Security Analyst III (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; conditions list District of Columbia, Washington, DC

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Assess implemented security and privacy controls for effectiveness, accuracy, applicability, and alignment with DOE requirements.
• Perform assessments of NIST and FISMA systems, including cloud SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and on-premises platforms.
• Prepare and review Assessment & Authorization packages, including ARWs, SAPs, SARs, risk assessments, and findings packages.
• Document control weaknesses, risks, vulnerabilities, corrective actions, and remediation results in clear, actionable reports.
• Review vulnerability scans, test reports, POA&Ms, system documentation, change requests, and security impacts.
• Support continuous monitoring, cybersecurity metrics, internal and external audits, FISMA data calls, and findings reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent work experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, security control assessments, or related technical security functions.
• Experience with control inheritance, hybrid and standalone controls, technical control testing, and security and privacy assessment plans.
• Strong understanding of NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FISMA, and related security and privacy regulations.
• Ability to analyze system configurations, technical specifications, risks, incidents, and vulnerabilities and produce accurate recommendations.
• Must be able to complete a DOE background investigation and obtain federal government and DOE Q clearance.
