Actuarial Associate (Disability Pricing)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days in office and 2 days working from home. Office locations are Bethlehem, PA; Hudson Yards, NYC; Holmdel, NJ; Stamford, CT; Pittsfield, MA; or Boston, MA.

Salary: $79,310–$130,295 per year, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Analyze internal and external data covering industry trends, clients, competitors, and regulatory developments.
• Develop rates and prepare state rate filings aligned with group finance strategy.
• Support product, underwriting, finance, and distribution initiatives that affect pricing models and rates.
• Complete actuarial assignments independently, meeting required specifications and deadlines.
• Recommend and implement advanced techniques to modernize pricing and improve accuracy.
• Rotate between departments every 18–24 months through the Actuarial Leadership Development Program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a mathematics-based field; actuarial science is preferred.
• At least two years of actuarial work experience; 3–5 years is preferred.
• Regularly taking Society of Actuaries exams toward the Actuarial Fellow designation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with actuarial modeling or data visualization software.
• Ability to communicate pricing analyses to technical and non-technical audiences and manage multiple deliverables.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Actuarial Associate designation from the Society of Actuaries.
• Understanding of group pricing practices and experience-based pricing.
• Prior Group Pricing experience, particularly with disability coverage.
