CNC Machinist

Location: Morton Grove, Illinois, USA; onsite, Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–2:00 pm

Salary: USD 27–31 per hour

What you will do

• Set up, program, edit, and operate CNC lathes, mills, drills, and other numerically controlled machinery.
• Machine stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, brass, exotic materials, and other workpieces to required specifications.
• Maintain quality and tolerances within .0003 inches using work orders, drawings, sketches, and machining instructions.
• Preset and resharpen tools, modify machine parameters, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Inspect finished work with micrometers, bore gauges, vernier calipers, and other measuring instruments.
• Follow safety procedures, report equipment issues, complete labor and time reports, and maintain an orderly work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus technical school education and working machinist knowledge or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of CNC machine tool programming, program editing, and operating experience.
• Experience operating CNC lathes and mills, reading machine drawings, and operating at least two CNC machine tools.
• Previous manual machinist experience and knowledge of machine programming languages and parameters.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, resolve elementary technical problems, work independently, and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, verbal and written communication, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
