Machinist II (CNC)

What you will do

• Safely operate CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce prototype and production parts, modifications, repairs, and assemblies.
• Machine parts from steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and other non-metal materials.
• Interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to determine machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and setups.
• Perform milling, turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, grooving, reaming, chamfering, and related operations.
• Inspect and rework parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and other dimensional inspection tools.
• Support manufacturing, engineering, facilities, and other internal customers while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

• Ability to operate CNC mills or CNC lathes for moderately complex machining operations.
• Ability to perform moderately complex machine setups and use basic trigonometry to calculate machining angles.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, work orders, and written or verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of standard machine-shop equipment, including grinders, drill presses, saws, rotary tables, and power tools.
• Ability to verify dimensions against specifications and solve typical problems using established procedures.
• Work is performed onsite in Birch Grove, Montana; relocation is not available.
