AI Solutions Engineer (Integration & Deployment)

Location: Herndon, VA, USA; primarily an office environment. Travel may be required based on customer, program, and solution-delivery needs.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain AI-enabled applications, integrations, workflow automations, and solution prototypes.
• Use Python and, where needed, C++ to build software, services, APIs, integrations, and deployment components.
• Translate mission and business use cases into technical designs, implementation plans, development tasks, and working software.
• Integrate enterprise applications, APIs, cloud services, data sources, knowledge repositories, and workflow tools.
• Move validated proof-of-concepts into secure, scalable, and maintainable operational capabilities.
• Collaborate with solution leaders, engineers, cloud and cybersecurity teams, program managers, customers, and other stakeholders through discovery, design, testing, release, and operational handoff.

Requirements

• Two to five years of experience in software engineering, application development, AI engineering, data engineering, cloud engineering, automation, systems integration, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with C++, or the ability to become productive in C++ quickly.
• Experience building and deploying applications, APIs, workflow automations, integrations, or data-enabled solutions, including work with databases, authentication, and system integration patterns.
• Practical experience or strong exposure to generative AI, large language models, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, model APIs, workflow orchestration, intelligent-document processing, or machine learning.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required. An active DoD Top Secret clearance is desired.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in federal, public-sector, healthcare, defense, intelligence, or another regulated environment.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, source control, testing, CI/CD, containerization, logging, debugging, and technical documentation.
• Relevant AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, software-development, data, machine-learning, or AI certifications.
