Director, Physical Security & Facility Security Officer (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; 25% travel to other sites

Salary: $163,000–$245,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Serve as the designated Facility Security Officer and manage facility clearances, DD254 requirements, and classified program compliance.
• Develop the enterprise physical security strategy and multi-year roadmaps aligned with NISPOM, ICD 705, and export control regulations.
• Build and lead security operations, security engineering, investigations, front desk operations, and contracted guard services.
• Establish 24/7/365 security operations, including command structures, escalation protocols, incident response, investigations, and insider threat programs.
• Maintain audit readiness for access controls, visitor management, foreign national protocols, classified information handling, and government inspections.
• Advise executive leadership and partner with EHS, Cybersecurity, Legal, People, and Facilities on security, construction, personnel, and emergency response initiatives.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance and current FSO certification required.
• 10+ years of progressive physical security experience, including 5+ years in leadership and 2+ years as an FSO.
• Expertise in NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117, ICD 705, classified program security, government audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with access control systems such as Lenel, CCTV/VMS, intrusion detection, visitor management, and security systems integration.
• Experience leading internal security teams and contracted security services, including training programs and performance standards.
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional strategic leadership skills.

Nice to have

• CPP, PSP, or equivalent professional security certification.
• Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing experience, including SCIF, SAP, or other compartmented programs.
• Experience managing CAPEX and OPEX security budgets and major security projects for new construction or facility expansion.
