Material Science & Technology (MSAT) Scientist (Chromatography)

Location: Newport, Delaware, United States

Salary: $103,200–$161,250 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for liquid chromatography column manufacturing, including silica particle production, modification, and column packing.
• Lead root cause investigations into production issues affecting quality, throughput, yield, and customer performance.
• Apply chemistry, engineering, materials science, statistical analysis, process capability metrics, Design of Experiments, and advanced data analytics to improve manufacturing decisions.
• Implement process improvements that increase robustness, reduce variability, and improve quality, delivery, capacity, and cost.
• Support technology transfer, process scale-up, material and supplier changes, and new product introductions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, Product Management, and global manufacturing teams to establish control strategies and technical standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing processes and process improvement methodologies.
• Experience using data analysis and statistical tools to solve complex technical problems.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Work in Newport, Delaware, United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with chromatography, silica materials, particle synthesis, porous materials, separation science, or consumables manufacturing.
• Knowledge of LC column manufacturing, packing processes, particle creation and modification, particle characterization, or related technologies.
• Experience with process capability analysis, DOE, SPC, Lean Six Sigma, or advanced manufacturing analytics.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 manufacturing environments and quality systems.
