Salary: $73,947–$115,542 per year, plus a 6% annual bonus target

What you will do
- Prepare titanium dioxide slurries, paint formulations, polymer samples, and other pigment-containing materials.
- Conduct laboratory experiments evaluating pigment dispersion, formulation behavior, coating appearance, and application performance.
- Operate, clean, and prepare laboratory equipment for mixing, application, testing, and sample preparation.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret experimental data to support conclusions and recommend next steps.
- Support the development and refinement of testing methods for paint, slurry, polymer, and pigment performance.
- Document procedures, observations, results, and conclusions while collaborating with scientists, engineers, technicians, and technical service colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.
- Interest in hands-on laboratory work involving materials preparation, testing, and characterization.
- Ability to follow procedures, conduct experiments, document observations, and maintain organized records.
- Basic data analysis skills, including spreadsheet work, trend identification, drawing conclusions, and communicating results.
- Commitment to safe, responsible, and organized laboratory work.
- Effective communication, collaboration, task management, and adaptability skills.
Nice to have
- Coursework, internship, research, co-op, or laboratory experience with coatings, pigments, polymers, paints, color science, materials testing, or formulation science.
- Experience preparing dispersions, slurries, paints, films, coatings, or polymer samples.
- Familiarity with equipment for mixing, dispersion, coating application, physical testing, or analytical characterization.
- Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, lab notebooks, or electronic records.
- Experience with standard operating procedures, hazard reviews, safe material handling, equipment troubleshooting, or laboratory workflow improvement.
