Senior Director, Technical Program Management (AI)

Location: Walmart Home Office, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Annual salary: $160,000–$320,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the transformation of Walmart’s future assortment and space experience.
• Orchestrate programs across Merchandising, Product, Technology, and Data Science from strategy through delivery and adoption.
• Translate merchant needs and business problems into requirements, priorities, and scalable solutions.
• Connect enterprise capabilities to create a seamless end-to-end merchant experience and eliminate manual handoffs.
• Establish operating rhythms, success measures, governance, dependency management, and accountability.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team while building partnerships across the enterprise.

Requirements

• Deep merchandising or retail experience, including understanding of assortment, space, and merchant decision-making.
• Experience leading large-scale business or technology transformation in complex, cross-functional organizations.
• Ability to translate between business and technology and turn ambiguous problems into executable plans.
• Strong strategic thinking, influence, communication, and senior stakeholder alignment skills.
• Fluency in AI, automation, data, and emerging technologies.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 10 years of relevant experience without the degree requirement.

Nice to have

• Project management certification.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration with a relevant specialization.
• Experience in product design and supervision.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
