Mechanical Design Engineer II (Automation)

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, Georgia, or Irving, Texas, USA; three days per week in the office. Travel up to 30% is required.

What you will do

• Lead the design and release of mechanical assemblies, layouts, bills of materials, and documentation for automation and material handling system projects.
• Align designs with system requirements, manufacturability, cost targets, customer specifications, and reliability standards.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and design reviews.
• Coordinate mechanical integration with controls, electrical, software, suppliers, offshore teams, and manufacturing.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, on-site validation, and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of mechanical design experience in automation, capital equipment, or material handling.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and mechanical documentation, such as Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and GD&T, with the ability to work independently on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ability to work on-site for design validation and integration in live system environments and to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Must be authorized to work full-time for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available. Required travel documents, including a valid passport where applicable, must be maintained.
