Software Development Internship (Winter 2027) (AI)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada. Flexible Workplace arrangements may include office, remote, or hybrid work depending on business and team needs. In-person onboarding and/or identity verification may be required.

Paid 16-week internship running from January 4 to April 23, 2027. Compensation depends on experience, educational level, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deliver software features, services, APIs, or developer tools.
• Collaborate with developers and product partners to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Write maintainable code and automated tests to support product quality and reliability.
• Investigate technical issues using debugging tools, logs, metrics, and other data.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, technical discussions, and retrospectives.
• Improve product performance, reliability, scalability, security, and usability while using AI-assisted development tools responsibly.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, data science, or a related technical field, with graduation no earlier than April 2027.
• Programming experience with one or more languages such as C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented or functional programming, and software design.
• Experience building, testing, or debugging software, plus familiarity with Git.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and learning skills.

Nice to have

• Agile software development experience.
• Exposure to cloud technologies, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, databases, data pipelines, or event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases and interest in automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, or software quality.
• Interest in generative AI, large language models, AI agents, CAD, manufacturing, product design, or developer platforms.
