Cell Biology Image Annotation & Evaluation Specialist (Part-Time)

Location: Remote (Philippines); flexible schedule; part-time hourly contract

What you will do

• Review and label high-content fluorescence microscopy images, including Cell Painting assays with chemical or genetic perturbations.
• Evaluate biological phenotypes and distinguish genuine cellular responses from imaging or assay artifacts such as edge effects, staining anomalies, debris, and defocus.
• Collaborate with machine learning teams to refine labeling schemas, evaluation metrics, and benchmark datasets.
• Present concise summaries or representative samples of previous cell biology image analysis or microscopy evaluation work.

Requirements

• Hands-on laboratory experience in cell biology, bioengineering, biophysics, or a related life sciences field.
• Direct bench experience with high-content screening, fluorescence microscopy, and Cell Painting or similar multichannel assays.
• Experience with phenotypic screening, cellular morphology analysis, and interpretation of chemical or genetic perturbation responses.
• Familiarity with image analysis tools such as CellProfiler, ImageJ/Fiji, QuPath, or custom Python pipelines.
• Ability to document edge cases clearly and explain biological reasoning to machine learning engineers.
