Staff Accountant (Healthcare)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States

Salary: $55,000–$70,000 base salary per year, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Post daily cash application entries, investigate unidentified payments, monitor unapplied cash, and support AR subledger reconciliation.
• Process weekly claims invoices, validate invoice data against claims records, and resolve discrepancies with claims operations and billing teams.
• Perform AR reconciliations, assess delinquent accounts, support collections follow-up, and escalate unresolved balances.
• Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries, route issues appropriately, and document resolutions.
• Prepare GAAP journal entries, support monthly close and account reconciliations, and maintain audit documentation.
• Collaborate across functions, follow internal controls, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• High accuracy in data entry and reconciliations.
• Ability to learn systems quickly and adapt to new tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for inquiry and collections handling.
• Ability to take ownership, investigate discrepancies, accept feedback, and develop professionally.

Nice to have

• Excel proficiency, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Understanding of US GAAP fundamentals.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms.
