Senior Accountant (Healthcare)

Location: Remote Flex - North Carolina; virtual work with a few in-office visits each year. The role may vary between Remote Flex and Hybrid Flex depending on the nature of the work and distance from the Durham headquarters.

Salary: $81,068.00–$129,708.00 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus and total rewards benefits.

What you will do

• Prepare and review GAAP/SAP financial statements and supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Review journal entries and account reconciliations, support month-end close, and prepare schedules and financial reports.
• Research technical accounting guidance, regulatory bulletins, and operating data to develop analyses and recommendations for management.
• Evaluate financial information and deal structures, perform due diligence, and resolve accounting and reporting issues.
• Maintain and enhance accounting systems, charts of accounts, reporting processes, and internal controls.
• Support audits and cross-functional projects while providing guidance, coaching, problem-solving assistance, and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree where required.
• At least 5 years of experience in a related field; 7+ years may substitute for the degree.
• Experience with accounting functions, journal entries, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and general accounting.
• Ability to work remotely from North Carolina and attend a few in-office visits each year.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with insurance accounting, including premium accounting, loss reserves, claims accounting, and reinsurance transactions.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification.
