Credentialing Services Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must be based in the United States and able to comply with company policies such as HIPAA.

What you will do

• Perform credentialing, sanction monitoring, and verification activities for providers, employees, vendors, and other applicable entities.
• Manage client credentialing and compliance reports, ensuring accuracy and completion within required deadlines.
• Support clients with credentialing systems, account access, workflows, reporting, and process-related questions.
• Research and resolve system, data, account, and process issues, escalating complex matters when needed.
• Document client inquiries, service requests, discrepancies, risks, and resolutions while maintaining accurate compliance records.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve service delivery and support credentialing operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, research, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional customer-service approach.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, spreadsheets, reports, and data.
• Ability to learn credentialing, compliance, and client-support systems; follow procedures independently; and handle sensitive healthcare information confidentially.
• Must be based in the United States and have a quiet, distraction-free workspace with reliable internet access.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, medical billing, claims, provider services, healthcare administration, compliance, or customer service.
• Knowledge of healthcare terminology and claim information, including ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, revenue codes, and billed charges.
• Experience with healthcare cost containment, medical bill review, payment integrity, TPA, health plans, or related healthcare services.
