Databricks Solutions Expert (Remote)

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $175,000–$195,000 annually

What you will do

• Architect and implement Azure Databricks as a secure, governed, multi-tenant Lakehouse platform.
• Design workspace topology, Azure networking, private connectivity, disaster recovery, and repeatable provisioning with Terraform.
• Establish Unity Catalog governance, identity and access controls, data protection, lineage, compliance, and audit standards.
• Build batch and streaming pipelines using Delta Lake, DLT, Structured Streaming, Auto Loader, and enterprise data sources.
• Set standards for performance, reliability, observability, CI/CD, FinOps, and platform cost management.
• Create reusable accelerators, playbooks, and training to support thousands of analytics, product, and data science teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics and 5+ years working with cloud data platforms.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Delta Lake.
• Strong expertise in Unity Catalog, Spark, PySpark, SQL, Structured Streaming, performance tuning, and storage optimization.
• Deep knowledge of Azure networking, Entra ID, Key Vault, ADLS Gen2, Event Hubs, Azure SQL/MI, and Data Factory.
• Practical Terraform experience and CI/CD implementation with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting more than 500 concurrent users and thousands of analytics teams.
• Knowledge of Photon, DLT, Workflows, MLflow, feature stores, Delta Sharing, FinOps, and chargeback models.
• Experience with Synapse/Fabric interoperability, data virtualization, data modeling, and data quality practices.
• Relevant Databricks, Microsoft Azure, or HashiCorp Terraform certifications.
