CNC Support Technician

Location: On-site in Nashua, New Hampshire, Monday–Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The role is limited by ITAR regulations to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with refugee or asylee status. Temporary visa holders are not eligible.

What you will do

• Set up, calibrate, operate, and perform alarm recovery on CNC mills and supporting equipment.
• Install, remove, calibrate, and inspect 4th- and 5th-axis trunnions, mechanical and hydraulic vises, vacuum fixturing, pneumatics, and digital CNC probes.
• Install and optimize cutting tools, holders, and tool sets while assisting with inventory organization and record keeping.
• Diagnose tooling inconsistencies, tool wear, machine alarms, coolant pressure, coolant concentricity, and vacuum pressure issues.
• Perform material changeovers, audits, inspections, and work-order activities while providing machine-status feedback.
• Support and coach operators and collaborate with relevant departments on tooling, machine performance, and equipment reliability.

Requirements

• At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of manual machining or CNC experience, including CNC mill setup and operation.
• Experience setting up, replacing, and recovering CNC work and tool probes, as well as troubleshooting CNC machine alarms.
• Mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely with sharp and heavy objects and power tools.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, perform quality inspections, and work with tolerances as close as 0.0005 inches.
• Ability to read and write in English and complete basic arithmetic; must meet the stated ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, Haas or Mazak machine tools, robot automation, and basic CNC programming.
• Experience with cutting tools, professional inspections, and quality audits.
• Knowledge of cutting feeds, speeds, and tool life.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
