Welder (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Chatsworth, California, United States; on-site. First shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with overtime and weekends as needed.

What you will do

• Perform precision TIG welding on aerospace components and assemblies across varied materials and thicknesses.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment according to drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
• Prepare, fit, tack, align, and assemble components while maintaining dimensional and workmanship requirements.
• Inspect completed welds, identify defects or nonconformances, and perform approved repairs and rework.
• Use precision measuring and inspection tools and maintain production, inspection, and material-traceability records.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality on troubleshooting, manufacturability feedback, and process improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on TIG welding experience with a demonstrated ability to produce consistent, high-quality precision welds.
• Strong understanding of TIG fundamentals, joint preparation, fit-up, heat control, weld quality, and common weld defects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
• Experience with precision metal fabrication, fitting, assembly, tight tolerances, and precision measuring equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude, hands-on problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to safely operate welding, hand, power, and other manufacturing equipment and work around machinery, robotics, and noise.

Nice to have

• Aerospace, defense, automotive, or other advanced manufacturing experience.
• Experience in an AS9100 or AS9100D quality environment.
• Hands-on laser welding experience.
• Experience TIG welding stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel-based alloys, or other specialty metals.
• Experience with weld inspection, nonconformance, rework, root-cause, corrective-action, or production process improvement activities.
