What you will do

• Perform life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design, and performance-based fire protection engineering under the direction of a P.E. or experienced consultant.
• Develop plans, specifications, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
• Conduct building code, egress, fire detection and alarm, smoke control, sprinkler, and water supply reviews.
• Perform engineering calculations, including hydraulic calculations, egress sizing, allowable building area, water supply, and smoke control equipment requirements.
• Assist with field investigations, inspections, design problem resolution, and checking design computations.
• Report progress and communicate technical strategies with project managers, clients, and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• 3+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Experience developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting plan reviews, and performing field reviews or inspections.
• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, reasoning, and technical presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex projects.
• Interest in pursuing professional licensure, with support provided during the process.
