TL;DR
Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (DevSecOps): Architecting, deploying, and sustaining secure Game Warden and customer workloads across classified networks, DDIL environments, and DoD impact levels with an accent on Kubernetes security, multi-cloud infrastructure, and continuous authorization. Focus on leading mission-critical deployments, resolving zero-connectivity failures, driving NIST and FedRAMP compliance, and mentoring forward deployed engineers.

Location: Remote, but candidates must reside in an approved U.S. hiring hub: DC/Maryland/Virginia; Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC; Denver/Colorado Springs, CO; or Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. Travel to client locations is required as needed.

Base salary: $160,000–$200,000 annually, plus potential equity awards and discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

  • Own technical delivery for complex government and defense engagements across classified networks, DDIL environments, IL2–IL6, and JWICS.
  • Architect, deploy, and sustain Game Warden and integrated customer workloads while serving as the senior technical escalation point.
  • Deploy and harden Kubernetes-based Zero Trust infrastructure using Talos Linux, Docker, Istio, GitLab, Helm, and Terraform.
  • Lead and mentor Forward Deployed and DevSecOps Engineers, establish technical standards, and create scalable deployment playbooks.
  • Drive accreditation and continuous ATO outcomes using NIST 800-53, RMF, STIGs, FedRAMP controls, and assessment remediation.
  • Translate field challenges into product roadmap priorities and support customer security reviews, audits, deployments, and operational exercises.

Requirements

  • Must reside in an approved U.S. hiring hub and be a U.S. citizen.
  • 7–10 years of experience in systems deployment, DevSecOps, or platform engineering in regulated or classified government environments.
  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance or eligibility; active clearance is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud/Commercial, Microsoft Azure Government, Google Cloud, and infrastructure as code for DoD IL2–IL6 and JWICS environments.
  • Expertise securing Kubernetes, OpenShift, or equivalent platforms, including image hardening, admission controls, network policies, and runtime security.
  • Strong Linux administration, observability, incident response, scripting, automation, and technical leadership experience.
