Software Engineer (Data Infrastructure)

Location: San Francisco, United States; office-centric hybrid schedule. Standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; working from home on Wednesday is generally available, while Friday depends on the role and team.

Base salary: $171,000–$190,000 per year, excluding additional compensation such as equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, test, deploy, and operate scalable backend microservices, caching layers, and high-throughput data processing platforms.
• Build and optimize interactions with relational and non-relational storage systems, streaming data pipelines, and database query pathways.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, and operational throughput of the data loading infrastructure.
• Partner with product engineering teams to integrate backend infrastructure with product features and enterprise capabilities.
• Participate in on-call rotations, debug production issues, and refine monitoring and operational tooling.
• Contribute to code reviews, system design, and architectural discussions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working in large, well-maintained codebases.
• Experience operating backend services in production, including operational tooling, monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution.
• Familiarity with containerized environments, cloud infrastructure, and microservice architectures.
• Experience or knowledge of relational or non-relational storage, real-time data streaming, or caching layers.
• Clear and collaborative communication with engineers and cross-functional teams.
